Prior to joining Hearn & Fleener, Jessica worked for several years as a civil litigation attorney in Denver where she represented clients in Colorado state and federal courts for personal injury claims, civil rights, and contractual disputes. Jessica brings courtroom, writing, research, and teaching skills to Hearn & Fleener and their clients as the writing attorney.
She also works as an adjunct professor at the Community College of Denver teaching civil litigation, evidence, legal writing, and research to paralegals.
Jessica received her J.D. from Arizona State University Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law in 2019. As a Colorado native, Jessica received her B.A. from Metropolitan State University of Denver. After law school, Jessica began working at a primarily criminal defense firm in Denver where she was the sole civil attorney. During her tenure, Jessica was able to take her research and writing skills from Colorado trial and appellate courts to the United States Supreme Court. She has also been admitted as pro hac vice counsel in New Hampshire, North Carolina, and Wyoming federal courts.
Fun fact: Jessica lives on and operates an angus cow/calf ranch in Blackhawk, Colorado.
